CHAI SOCIETY’S NEW YEAR
Question: What do the following have in common?
- The Rabbi Richard J. Sobel lectures on early Christianity Mother’s Day brunch
- The effect of comets on climate change, species extinction, and European plagues
- The legacy of great cantors of the 20th Century
- The reason the United States did not blow up the railroads to Nazi concentration camps
Answer: All are programs of the Chai Society, the Temple’s educational and social club for men and women.
All are welcome at CHAI SOCIETY events, and everyone can (and should) be a member. The new year for CHAI SOCIETY programs began in September, with a fabulous breakfast buffet and a presentation on Herbert Lehman, New York’s first Jewish governor, by professor emeritus Norman Enhorning, of SUNY Adirondack.
It is time to support the wonderful programs the CHAI SOCIETY presents during the year. The dues are only $18 (“Chai”) per individual for the entire year of intellectual stimulation and fantastic breakfasts. Please make your check payable to Temple Beth El Brotherhood and mail it NOW to Sanford Searleman, 12 Pollazzo Court, Queensbury, NY 12804.
